Great place! Hosts are great. Convenient access to Poi Pu and Koloa. Lots of sounds of nature and very comfortable temperature in Lawai valley. Place is very clean and well equipped for visitors.

The Hale Kua is a wonderful cottage in a quiet part of south Kauai. It is situated on hill amongst beautiful trees and lush plants. To access Hale Kua, you go north on Kua road (easy to find because of traffic light on Hwy 50) a bit less than a mile. Overall it is about 3.5 miles from the ocean but it is not likely you will see the ocean from the cottages. Instead you will see trees, plants, flowers and birds. It is quiet except for the roosters which you hear occasionally through the night. We found it a very beautiful relaxing home base while exploring Kauai. The Coral Tree was very open and roomy - exceeding the internet photos. The Hale Kua is a good point from which to explore southern Kauai - Waimea, Poipu, Kipu Ranch, Lihue, Hanapepe, Capn' Andy boat rides, etc. We also took a drive the far north. 3 bed rooms plus a loft allow room for many, though parking is rather limited. Mosquitos are around and the roosters are annoying. This will be our first choice for annual Kauai visits.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful slice of paradise with us. Your place is so beautiful, lush and peaceful. We felt so at home, everything was so clean and comfortable. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay at the Taro Patch and thank you for the wonderful Aloha spirit shared with us.. We certainly will be telling our friends about Hale Kua and you will always be our first choice on all of our future visits to beautiful Kauai.

This is private one bedroom accommodation - attached to the main house - that is situated in a lush and beautiful mountain setting surrounded by tall trees and tropical foliage. For us it was too far (1.5 hours) from Ke'Ke and Tunnels beach as we are keen snorkelers however it is in a very beautiful area. We like to prepare all our own meals and found the kitchen to be very basic and awkward to use - separate small oven and hotplates, not much bench space and the utensils are quite worn. However, the place is very clean and comfortable with a washing machine, large fridge, nice towels and a little balcony that faces lovely trees and flower bushes. The bed is very soft and the chickens are early risers but all in all this is a lovely place to stay.
